The women living on pairie begin learning to bend down their waists from the age of six or seven.Bending is not to bow or to pick wild flowers,but to carry the heavy things on the back.The grass wit clearly and completely the youth and beauty,the senility and tiredness on women's faces.They face the grass all through their lives,saying few words.All the worries inflitrate the deepest of the grassroots.

They remember clearly:where tiredness is buried,because those grass are a bit withered;where several drops of tears are concealed,bacause those grass are so green that make people sad;where delight is hidden,because those grass also semm to be vigour,though they are in the burning sun.

The women all become grass after their death,encircling tightlt to form a bosom.The grass not only brings up man and woman but also feed sheep and cattle.Therefore,people living on prairie call the prairie mother.
